Review: The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins

Scott Hawkins' The Library at Mount Char will come out in paperback on March 15, and it is already available to purchase in hardback.  The Library at Mount Char is a really fun horror/fantasy novel.  It's actually a little difficult to categorize, since it's quite original.  The book's title and cover suggest that this is going to be one of my favorite things, a book about books.  It's not really, unfortunately, but that's not to say I didn't thoroughly enjoy it.  The basic story: 12 children are taken to live in a big house by "Father," and the novel starts when they are in their 30s and Father has disappeared.  Most of the "children" are looking for Father, but Carolyn recognizes the larger (universal, in fact) implications of Father's disappearance.  It's a great and very dark read.
