Brilliant British designer Mary Katrantzou, who is famous for basically inventing digital photographic prints in fashion, turned a corner with her Fall 2014 collection, and now with her Resort 2015 collection, which is all about fairy tales and typography. Letters are incorporated into intricate glitter embossing, brocades, flocking, embroidery, and more basically into the a-line skirts and v-necks. She also created a delightful collection of bags that are shaped like the initials of her first name. Her interest in lettering was inspired by the Book of Kells, Art Deco, and Milton Glaser 60s fonts. The collection was also inspired by the Disney cartoon Fantasia, fairy tales, and Victorian picture books. As usual, the collection is clever, whimsical, original, and beautiful.
